SOLUBLE CORN FIBER AIDS in DIGESTION

Cargill is expanding its sugar-reduction tool kit by adding soluble corn fiber to its portfolio of stevia sweeteners, polyols, and texturizing solutions. The soluble corn fiber serves as a label-friendly bulking agent with half the calories of sugar, the company says. Additionally, it provides a minimum 70% fiber content (dry basis) and may enable high-in-fiber claims. Alongside its nutritional credentials, the company’s soluble corn fiber also offers good digestive tolerance, a must for indulgent categories like ice cream. It is functional too, bringing back bulk and mouthfeel to reduced-sugar applications, without impacting taste, color, or texture, the company says.

    CLEAN-LABEL COCONUT MILK POWDER

Organic Coconut Milk Powder from Global Organics offers the rich creaminess and mild flavor of coconut milk in a convenient, shelf-stable form. This clean-label ingredient is versatile; use it as a dry mix or rehydrate it to create coconut milk. It is ideal for enhancing soups, curries, sauces, smoothies, shakes, and protein drinks, according to the company. It also serves as a plant-based milk alternative to blend with protein powder, making it a popular choice for vegan or dairy-intolerant individuals. Rich in beneficial MCTs, lauric acid, and essential minerals like potassium and manganese, this organic coconut milk powder is cholesterol-free, low in sugar, and low-carb, making it both indulgent and nutritious, the company says.

    HIGH-FIBER WITH NATURAL SWEETNESS

Icon Foods’ new fiber blends are designed to meet the growing demand for high-fiber, low-calorie food and beverage options while minimizing gastrointestinal discomfort. FibRefine 3.0 blends soluble tapioca fiber, chicory root inulin, and polydextrose, while FibRefine 3.5 offers an organic option of soluble tapioca fiber, agave inulin, and gum acacia. By using a combination of fibers that metabolize at different rates, the company says the pre-mixed blends allow manufacturers to add up to 15g of prebiotic fiber per serving without triggering negative GI effects that can occur using a single fiber. The company’s fiber blends are about 30% as sweet as sugar, and incorporates natural sweeteners like Reb M stevia to enhance mouthfeel and texture in reduced sugar formulations. The blends are ideal for dairy- or plant-based applications like protein and hydration beverages, yogurts, frozen desserts, sauce,s and more, the company says.

With a focus on innovation, its team works closely with manufacturers to create custom blends that balance functionality and taste, ensuring clean-label solutions that resonate with today’s health-conscious consumers. Whether a client is developing beverages, baked goods, or plant-based products, the company says its expertise in fiber technology can help customers deliver superior quality and nutritional value.
