    METAL DETECTION SYSTEM FOR CHEESES

ProScan metal detectors from Advanced Detection Systems are ideal for cheese and other packaged dairy products. The ProScan Max III Conveyor metal detection system is available on both a washdown-ready welded frame or a more economical bolt-together conveyor. The company’s Acculearn technology learns product characteristics in as few as two passes, limiting false trips due to product variability. Features like its patented anti-vibration technology and adjustable RF protection increase performance reliability, the company says. ADS also offers free professional product testing. The results are used to optimize the ProScan Max III detection levels for any product’s specific characteristics.

    CAMERAS AID IN IMAGE ANALYSIS

The high-performance CX.I cameras from Baumer offer exceptional performance coupled with a clever design and practical functional properties, according to the company. This allows users to operate applications with minimum integration effort and sustainably reduced system costs. The robust design ensures long-term stable image analysis to reduce downtimes. Other features include simple and cost-effective control of external illumination thanks to four power outputs with integrated illumination controllers; operating temperature range of -40C to 70C, eliminating the need for cooling and heating measures; versatile IP 54, IP 65, IP 67 and IP 69K housing accessories facility flexibility application solutions in the food and beverage industry

    INTEGRATED SYSTEM PROVIDES EFFICIENCY

Fortress Technology offers customers options to maximize floor space and cost savings by combining the capabilities of its metal detectors and checkweighers into a robust integrated system. Processing at 150 ppm, its Raptor Combination system ensures exceptional performance and sensitivity, providing food safety and weight compliance for packers and food processors, according to the company. The Raptor provides live and historical batch statistics, offering insights into upstream efficiencies. Optional communication adapters allow for customized data collection. Designed for continuous functionality, the metal detector, conveyor and reject device operate independently of the checkweigher status. A unique industry feature, this ensures uninterrupted operation and reliable performance, the company says.

    SPACE-SAVING CHECKWEIGHER/METAL DETECTOR

The Ishida DACS checkweigher/CEIA metal detector space-saving combination systems from Heat and Control deliver unbeatable dairy inspection performance, the company says. It precisely detects all ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants, including stainless steel; verifies correct product weight or count; eliminates underweights; and protects profits by eliminating costly product overweight giveaway. Both machines are pre-assembled on a single, easy-to-clean frame, and operators can quickly remove conveyors and belts without using tools. Set-up and operation are simple and include multi-product memory for fast, efficient changeovers.

    INSPECTION SYSTEM DOES IT ALL

The CM combination checkweigher/metal detector from Mettler-Toledo is a powerful inspection system for critical control points that offers metal detection and weight control in one fully integrated and space-saving device, according to the company. Mettler-Toledo offers multiple combination systems that can include 2-, 3-, and 4-in-1 systems with checkweighing, metal detection, x-ray inspection and vision inspection.

    METAL-DETECTABLE CALIBRATION

Metal-detectable calibration is an essential aspect of any metal-detectable program, according to Nelson-Jameson. Periodically checking calibration by passing a known calibration test tool under the unit to check for accuracy will ensure companies maintain calibration. Nelson-Jameson test tools are available in ferrous, non-ferrous, or 316 stainless-steel forms and shapes such as rods, cylinders, balls, whips, cards, and more for added versatility. By testing calibration, companies can prevent larger pieces of foreign object contaminants from getting through the threshold setting and protect the finished product’s safety.

    CHECKWEIGHERS AND X-RAY INSPECTION MACHINES

Wipotec has been a trusted partner for dairy companies for many years, the company says, providing innovative optimum product inspection solutions. The company’s check weighers and X-ray inspection machines accomplish key objectives including maximizing customer satisfaction; minimizing product waste; and reduced costs by eliminating recalls. Its checkweighers ensure that customers get what they pay for, while preventing wasteful product overfill. X-Ray and OCR vision inspections ensure that dairy products are free of foreign bodies, and that the packages are properly labeled, thereby eliminating expensive product recalls.
