    EARTHY NATURAL COLORS

Del Carmen Foods’ California-grown and processed beetroot and carrot organic frozen purees are used within dairy products for their great flavor and commercially for their deep purple and orange color profiles. Beet and carrot puree use continues to grow in different dairy and beverage applications for its natural color, nutritional content, flavor profile, and texture. Whether individually quick frozen or frozen puree, beetroot, and carrots from California are used as ingredients for their rich earthy taste, functional benefits, texture, and appetizing color, the company says.

    COLOR SOLUTIONS FROM CAROTENOIDS

DSM Food and Beverage has more than 20 years of experience in the coloration field and continues to support thousands of customers worldwide. The ingredient supplier’s coloration solutions are based on carotenoids, which are found in nature in fruits and vegetables, and carry pro-vitamin A benefits to support eye health. Its colors have no taste impact and no polysorbates are used, the company says. Most importantly, DSM carotenoids contribute to functional and health solutions in dairy applications.

    A RAINBOW OF COLORS

A vivid rainbow of certified organic, non-GMO colors is available in liquid and powder formats for companies’ natural product development needs. The Exberry Organics line from GNT USA is valued for its brilliance, ease of use, recognizable ingredients and performance. Achieve vibrant hues with consumer-friendly, clean and clear label declarations for a wide range of organic products such as dairy and nondairy beverages, yogurts, frozen desserts, dips and spreads, and more.

    I’D RATHER BE BLUE

Sensient’s FDA-approved Butterfly Pea Flower Extract fills the industry-wide gap for a heat-, light-, and pH-stable bright blue across a wide range of applications. In combination with other fruit and vegetable juices in the company’s portfolio, unique and vibrant blue, green and purple shades can be achieved in single-system solutions, the company says. Whimsical, trending hues can be achieved with lower final usage rates due to the highly concentrated natural colorants in the company’s toolkit. These vibrant, new shades are ideal for dairy and dairy-alternative milks, protein drinks, smoothies, and more.

    CARAMEL COLORS MAKE THE GRADE

Keeping up with non-GMO demands in the dairy food industry, Sethness Roquette continues to offer its Non-GMO Product Verified SB121 Liquid Caramel Color. Manufactured from non-GMO cane sucrose, SB121 fulfills a need state within several dairy applications. It is much darker than typical Class 1 offerings and, as a result, it offers an appealing brown hue. All Sethness Roquette Class 1 or plain Caramel Colors are minimally processed. The company says that no ammonium or sulfite compounds are used to manufacture any of its Class 1 Caramel Colors. In fact, 13 Sethness Roquette Caramel Colors are Non-GMO Project Verified.
